A multi-sector movement led by the Federation of Industries of the State of Pará, the COP+ Journey, has socio-bioeconomy as one of its axes. To further strengthen partnerships that can help structure an economy that preserves the standing forest, the movement promoted a visit this Friday (14) to the Amazon Bioeconomy and Innovation Park, located in Porto Futuro II in Belém. Businessmen and representatives of industries operating in the Amazon and the FIEPA System participated in the visit.
The initiative aimed to connect companies with the opportunities emerging from the increased value of the biodiversity-based economy. Visitors were able to explore the infrastructure offered by the Park, which includes research laboratories, a factory, coworking spaces, incubators, and pilot plants focused on the development of food, cosmetics, and forest products.
Fábio Xerfan, executive manager of FIEPA Redes, highlighted that the visit could open doors for strategic partnerships. “It’s very important for us to be able to create this link between suppliers and the industry, to understand the demand so we can meet it. The park is very interesting, innovative, and this partnership has everything to succeed,” he stated.
The delegation was received by the Park's team, who explained the spaces and machines that are part of the project. Caio Prange Piva, Head of Ecosystem Relations at the Amazon Bioeconomy and Innovation Park, highlighted the importance of integrating the productive sector into the space. “We have an infrastructure that can already be used by industry, but it can also serve startups that can be agents of transformation for the industry. In addition, we have a space to develop businesses. Industry has the potential to already have an infrastructure that provides the scale that the forest needs. So their participation and inclusion in this process is extremely important,” he stated.
