The goal is to demonstrate the leadership of Amazonian industry in building solutions for climate action and sustainable development
The FIEPA System is preparing a broad and strategic participation in the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), in Belém, establishing itself as an important hub for Amazonian industry during the event. The agenda includes a series of panels, forums, meetings, and inaugurations that reinforce the role of the productive sector in the transition to a low-carbon economy, the creation of green jobs, and the sustainable development of the region.
FIEPA participates in panels in the Blue and Green Zones
In the two main discussion spaces of the conference, the Blue and Green Zones, FIEPA will play a prominent role. In the Blue Zone, it will coordinate a panel on the urgency of traceability in regions with high land, environmental, and socioeconomic complexity, such as the Legal Amazon. In the Green Zone, it will lead two panels selected for the Pará Pavilion, which will highlight, respectively, the potential of biomass in decarbonizing Amazonian industry and the initiatives proposed by the COP+ Journey.
Still in the Blue Zone, FIEPA will actively participate in the program led by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), at a 200 m² booth set up at Parque da Cidade. Officially opening on the 11th, the space will host debates, study launches, and presentations of business initiatives focused on the transition to a low-carbon economy. It will also highlight the Sustainable Business COP (SB COP), a global coalition that brings together nearly 40 million companies from more than 60 countries to articulate private-sector sustainability actions and support UN climate negotiations.
“COP30 will be a milestone to show the world that the Amazon has concrete solutions, technology, and productive capacity to lead the transition to a green economy. FIEPA will be at the center of this dialogue, connecting companies, governments, and communities,” says the Federation’s president, Alex Carvalho.
Brazilian Industry Hub to Host Parallel Industry Programming at COP30
To strengthen the industrial sector’s presence and integration in COP30 debates, FIEPA has organized exclusive spaces dedicated to industry during the Conference. The Brazilian Industry Hub will serve as the convergence point for national industry, acting as a host to promote cross-sector collaboration and present innovative solutions aligned with the climate agenda.
One of these spaces will be Casa SESI Indústria Criativa, located in a historic mansion on Avenida Brás de Aguiar, fully restored and revitalized by FIEPA in partnership with SESI. With free admission, the venue opens on the 5th with three simultaneous exhibitions: Im-PARÁ-veis, by visual artist Roberta Carvalho; the Jewels of the Amazon project, organized by Instituto Elabora Social with sponsorship from Hydro and support from COP+ Journey, Ebata, and Aimex; and the Upcycling exhibition, in partnership with Receita Federal and SENAI Pará, focused on circular economy and waste reduction.
Eco Truck Powered by Waste

From the 10th to the 14th, a truck powered by biomethane — a 100% renewable fuel obtained from purified biogas generated from agricultural, urban, and sewage waste — will be at the SENAI Getúlio Vargas Unit. The initiative shows that sustainable production is possible by encouraging reuse, repair, and recycling to reduce waste and environmental impact. The project, the result of a partnership between Scania, SENAI-SP, Ultragaz, LOTS Group, and Itaipu Norte, is touring Brazil with SENAI-SP’s Mobile School, offering COP30 participants a practical immersion in circular economy concepts.
SB COP Working Groups of the CNI
Following the FIEPA System’s agenda, experts, the productive sector, and socio-environmental organizations will gather on November 10 and 11 at the Federation’s headquarters for events of the CNI’s SB COP Working Groups. Discussions will cover topics ranging from food systems, circular economy, and sustainable cities to transition financing and energy. The goal is to discuss pathways for a socio-bioeconomy in which Amazonian communities lead the value creation of forest-based supply chains.
Climate Control Laboratory Inauguration
On Wednesday the 12th, the SENAI Getúlio Vargas unit will inaugurate the SENAI Climate Control Laboratory, in partnership with multinational Gree Electric Appliances, the world’s largest air-conditioner manufacturer. The lab will expand local workforce training capacity, reduce operational costs, and strengthen regional production.
Solar Butterfly Travels the World and Arrives in Belém

Also on the 13th, SENAI Getúlio Vargas will host the Solarbutterfly, the world’s largest solar-powered vehicle, which will arrive in Belém as the final destination of its global journey: more than 100,000 km, 48 countries, 5 continents, 4 years, and 217 simple solutions to stop global warming. The vehicle is a giant butterfly whose wings are covered in solar panels that power a zero-emission electric trailer. The Swiss team of 40 members is led by solar pioneer Louis Palmer. The group traveled through Europe, North America, India, South Africa, and finally South America, mapping innovative and creative climate solutions.
Financing for Forest-Based Businesses
Attracting investment to strengthen the bioeconomy and boost Amazonian micro and small businesses — connecting investors to initiatives with positive environmental and social impact — will be the focus of panels hosted by Instituto Amazônia+21 on the 13th, at the Pará Industry Observatory, FIEPA’s headquarters. In partnership with the Sustainable Investment Facility, the event will present projects and solutions that highlight the Amazon’s potential as a hub for sustainable investment.
Sustainable Industrial Excellence Forum
Also on the 13th, FIEPA and the COP+ Journey will host the Sustainable Industrial Excellence Forum, presenting initiatives selected through the COP+ Journey Call for Case Studies to CNI representatives, presidents of state industry federations, and national and international authorities. The Forum will also introduce the “Guidelines for a Low-Carbon Industry”, ten recommendations for a new environmental, social, and economic agenda for the Brazilian Amazon, formulated by the COP+ committees.
SESI Connected Health
As part of the FIEPA System’s programming, SESI Pará will showcase projects that form part of the SESI Connected Health program, which proposes a more efficient, ecological, and accessible healthcare model for the Amazon. Highlights include the Health Carbon Footprint Calculator, which measures CO₂ emissions generated by health-related habits such as transportation, telemedicine, immunization, and diet; the launch of the Climate Protocol, with guidelines for addressing climate change impacts on public health; and the inauguration of the SESI Connected Health Vessel, aimed at promoting digital health and primary care for industrial workers and riverside communities. The vessel will be inaugurated on the 14th, at 10 a.m., at the Tamandaré Port Terminal, with the presence of Brazil’s Minister of Health, Alexandre Padilha.
UN Global Compact Holds Event at FIEPA
As the SDG Hub in Pará, FIEPA will host on the 17th the event “Beyond Belém: The Legacy of COP30”, promoted by the UN Global Compact – Brazil Network. An unprecedented movement of cooperation and engagement involving more than 800 companies and 15 collective projects, the event is part of the Pact Towards COP30 program and will bring together national and international leaders to discuss meaningful progress in industrial climate mitigation, adaptation, and innovation. Confirmed speakers include Mary Robinson, former president of Ireland and global reference in climate justice; Princess Abze Djigma, co-chair of the UNFCCC PCCB; sailor and writer Tamara Klink; TV Globo journalist Ernesto Paglia; and Daniela Grelin and Guilherme Xavier, executive directors of the UN Global Compact Brazil.
Industry Innovation and Sustainability Summit
On the 18th, FIEPA will host the Industry Innovation and Sustainability Summit, a public event that will gather authorities, sector representatives, and strategic partners at FIEPA headquarters. The agenda includes panels on the movement’s anchor programs: “Combatting Illegal Deforestation and Burning,” “Amazon Sociobioeconomy,” and “Industrial Circular Economy.” The event will also be a platform for strategic announcements and 2026 climate agendas, aiming to make Belém a permanent reference for climate discussions. The Summit will be a call to action, presenting goals to be implemented by 2030 and launching new partnerships.
Book Launch

Closing the industry sector’s COP30 agenda, on the 19th the book “The Belém of Our Dreams: A Collective Contribution to the City” will be launched, written by Paulo Pinho, PhD in Environmental Sciences. The work brings together ideas and testimonials reflecting on the present and future of Pará’s capital, proposing a collective and inspiring vision for building a more sustainable, just, and human Belém. All proceeds will be donated to Associação Amigos de Belém, a civil society organization dedicated to social awareness and environmental improvements, including solid waste management.
