In the heart of Belém, the Brazilian Industry Hub is the convergence point for national industry during COP30. Promoted by the Federation of Industries of the State of Pará (FIEPA), the hub comprises spaces such as the FIEPA headquarters, the recently renovated Albano Franco Auditorium, and the SESI Creative Industry House, a restored historic building that serves as the city's new space for culture, innovation, and creativity. These spaces will host events parallel to the UN Conference, including high-impact panels, strategic announcements, meetings of business leaders from around the world, and events promoted by the COP+ Journey, a multi-sector movement led by FIEPA.

The COP+ Journey program at the Brazilian Industry HUB has already begun with the opening of the "Jewels of the Amazon" exhibition at Casa SESI Indústria Criativa, which brings together original pieces produced by artisans from various regions of Pará. The project is a realization of the Instituto Elabora Social, sponsored by Hydro and with institutional support from the FIEPA System, the COP+ Journey, Ebata, and Aimex. There are 14 pieces made with materials from Amazonian biodiversity such as fish scales, açaí pits, seeds, ceramics, and regional fibers, among other materials. All of this was incorporated with sustainably managed forest wood, provided by Ebata Produtos Florestais, through the Association of Wood Industries of the State of Pará; and recycled aluminum from scrap yards, in partnership with Hydro.

According to the executive vice-president of FIEPA and the COP+ Journey, Marcella Novaes, the project works on two essential pillars of the COP+ Journey: socio-bioeconomy and the circular economy. “The exhibition shows that the industry has sustainability as its foundation. And looking at the pieces and learning a little about the history of the creative artisans, it's impossible not to be moved. And that's what we hope for in this beautiful space, the SESI Creative Industry House,” she pointed out. Combining design, sustainability, and the knowledge of the forest, the pieces were created starting from the theme “Dreams” and will be a showcase for the appreciation of the work of local artists and the cultural and natural richness of the Amazon during COP30. Altairley Mendonça, Ana Lucia Everdosa, Bianca Camino, Bruna Sampaio, Josane Santos, Joyce Adriele, Luciene Farias, Maria Aparecida Matos, Monica Moraes, Neuciane Pereira, Nilma Arraes, Patrícia Pamplona, Selma Montenegro, and Tânia Lúcia Amaral are the artisans participating in the project. Artist Altairley Mendonça created the necklace “Morada da Felicidade” (Abode of Happiness), made with miriti fiber, açaí seed, wood, coconut shell, and aluminum. The piece was inspired by a special place. “My house, where I spent my childhood, where I learned techniques that I use in my pieces today,” the artist explained.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until November 28th, Tuesday to Friday, from 9 am to 6 pm, with free admission.

Excellence Forum brings together industry solutions for decarbonization.

Among the main events of the Brazilian Industry HUB is the Sustainable Industrial Excellence Forum, promoted by the COP+ Conference. The event will take place on November 13th, starting at 1:30 PM, in the Albano Franco Auditorium and will bring together innovative solutions from the Amazonian industry that are contributing to the decarbonization of the region. The initiatives were selected through the COP+ Conference Case Study Call and will be presented to an audience comprised of representatives from the National Confederation of Industry, presidents of industry federations from various Brazilian states, and national and international authorities. The event is open to the public, with registration available on the FIEPA website.

Nine projects were selected from 76 entries. They underwent analysis by a committee formed by experts from the COP+ Journey's Curatorial Council and members of the FIEPA System; and were chosen for their capacity to innovate, generate real impacts in the region, and inspire other companies to replicate sustainable ideas. The projects that will be presented at the Forum are: “Water for All: water security and climate resilience on Combu Island” from the State Secretariat for the Environment, Climate and Sustainability; “Boiteca: Livestock-Forest Integration and Sustainable Industrialization of Teak in the Amazon” from TRC Agroflorestal LTDA; the “Mega Hubs” and “Meta Florestal 2030” projects from Vale; “PRO Carbono” from Bayer; “Transforming waste into forests” from Mineração Paragominas SA; “Biogas and Energy Transition in the Amazon” from Guamá Tratamento de Resíduo; “Bioeconomy: agriculture, innovation and sustainability in the palm oil production chain” by the Brazilian Association of Palm Oil Producers; and the project “Green Technology for Decarbonization of Motor Vehicles” by Amazon Rhiira.

“During the Forum, we will give visibility to initiatives that are already being carried out in the Amazon, conceived and led by those who know and live in the region, and which have made a difference on the path to a greener economy. The objective is also to inspire other industries to replicate these good practices, which need to resonate,” highlighted Alex Carvalho, president of FIEPA and the COP+ Journey.

The event will also feature the presentation of the “Guidelines for a Low-Carbon Industry,” consisting of ten recommendations for a new environmental, social, and economic agenda in the Brazilian Amazon, formulated by the COP+ Journey committees; as well as the next steps of the movement until 2030. “As a productive sector, we are aware of our responsibility to propose concrete solutions based on decarbonization, socio-bioeconomy, and a development model that combines economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental conservation,” explains the president.

Innovation Summit brings leaders together around the sustainability agenda.

The COP+ Journey also promotes the Industry Innovation and Sustainability Summit during COP30, which will also bring together authorities and representatives from the sector. The program on Tuesday, November 18th, will bring together strategic partners at the FIEPA headquarters at 8 am and will consist of plenary sessions, panels, and special sessions. The event will be open to the public, with registration through the FIEPA website.

During the summit, innovative ideas formulated by the COP+ Journey committees will be presented. There will also be a panel on the movement's anchor programs: Combating deforestation and illegal burning, Socio-bioeconomy of the Amazon; Circular Economy of Industry, which were created within the scope of the Journey, but will be permanent in the Federation of Industries of the State of Pará.

The event will also be a space for strategic announcements and climate agendas for 2026, with programs that aim to make the capital of Pará a permanent reference point for discussions on climate. The Summit intends to be a call to action, with the presentation of goals to be implemented by 2030 and the establishment of partnerships.
